Do you have links with education? Do you work with deaf children or deaf young people? Do you have deaf colleagues or deaf service users/customers? Are you deaf yourself and/or do you have deaf children?

National statistics show that deaf children do not achieve academically as well as hearing children, why is this?

What is British Sign Language and why is it important?

How can we make a difference by understanding more about how complex the communication barriers are and how can we use this knowledge to overcome those barriers?

There will be presentations from Lynda Holland – NDCS (National Deaf Children’s Society) and Kate Rowley – DCAL (Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre) and an opportunity to discuss how the information can be used to improve our services in Bedford.

British Sign Language Interpreters have been booked.
